Recently finished "My Father's Secret War" about a woman's quest to learn what her father did in WWII. Not the book I was hoping it would be, but a good read I've recommended a few times.
Also have had "Many Are the Crimes: McCarthyism in America" by Ellen Schrecker checked out of the local library for the last five weeks. Very densely footnoted, the copy I have was previously (and very passionately!) marked up. With little time to read, I've only read a few chapters. Maybe a return to light-weight fiction is in order....
