Your parrot memories made me smile. Mom had a parrot (I believe Kermit was a yellow winged Be-Be Parrot -- not sure of the full name or spelling). Had him for several years, got him when I was in High School. He loved Mom to death. Tolerated others, except me. He loved to torment me.
We didn't have to worry about clipping his wings because he got stressed one weekend when we were gone (he had someone checking on him) and pulled out his tail feathers and kept them out from that day foward. Vet wasn't worried -- he was fine overall, just didn't let his tail feathers come back...
Was bright green with yellow on his wings and a gray feather tufted bald butt... Not too big, about twice the size of a parakeet. Small parrot.
Mom would have him out in the living room giving him kissies and telling him how wonderful he was (who wouldn't love that!) and when he was done after an hour or so, he'd walk back to his cage in the dining room. He would find me where ever I was in the room and march over to me, and walk across me, nipping at me the whole way and sqwaking up a fuss, LOL. If I was on the floor on my stomach, he'd grab my shorts, walk across my butt, honking my butt the whole way making a tremendous noise... I was always very still and made sure he had good footing as he was tormenting me, LOL. All 8 or so inches of bright green and bald butted menace that he was... ----- Tammy and Pookey (Stanley 8/91 - 8/07)
