Well?

We had a bit of excitement yesterday...

The neighbors have a very cute puppy named Bree. She is about a year old, and is very small. I think she is half Jack Russell and the other half is either Maltese or Yorkie. A little white fluff ball of pure energy...

I heard an awful sound outside, it sounded like she was caught in something and almost screaming in pain -- more than once. She and indoor dog and is always with one of the neighbors when outside, so I thought she either got hurt or was scared and crying very loudly at their door if accidently left out.

Before I could get to the front door, a blaze of orange thunder and fury raced by me. Pookey. Don't let him fool you, for an 18 year old with only three legs, he can move...

He hit the front door and started yowling like the Hounds of Hell were on his tail. He was racing in circles and yowling at the door. I had to move him to get out to get to Bree.

She was OK... They put her in her crate so they could bring groceries in safely and she let out the awful "I am dying" cries we heard. They sounded like pain vice a bark or whimper.

I got back in the house and Pookey was right on the door staring at me, waiting and meowing... I let him know she was OK and gave him a treat for being such a good rescue kitty... He then promptly went back to resuming his 23.5 hour a day power nap...
