The holistic vet on "Ask Dr. Tobin", on this forum recommends feeding cats a diet of fresh meat. "Cooked or raw chicken, with its bones, along with some cod liver oil and plain yogurt is probably the cheapest and easiest way to feed a cat.", he said. Now this is how I would like to feed my cats and I feel that it would be very healthy for them. However, I am squeemish about feeding raw so would definitely bake it first. I would probably fix them something like baked wing tips and necks, both of which have bones that I think that a cat could handle. I would definitely give them baked chicken breasts too, because I do know that they all love it.

A person would probably have to make a slow gradual transition from processed to homemade but I have the time to do this, now that I'm retired. It's always a treat for all four of them when share my chicken with them.

I would love to hear what you ladies think about this. Have you ever tried it or thought about feeding your cats a homemade diet?
