i have a 3 year old flame point himalayan stud. he is breeder quality, registered and proven. a persian breeder contacted me with the idea to trade one of the kittens from her current litter for stud service with my male. she did this to add the red factor to her line and to get some females unrelated to her own stud. i would get a white copper eyed female kitten which would add (solid)persians into my breeding program. this idea was very appealing to me.
then the breeder e-mailed me claiming that because my stud fee was lower than the price of her kitten i would have to give her the stud service plus the money( kitten fee-stud fee) in order for the deal to go through. is this normal i always thought that for cats of similar quality a straight exchange is customary.
