I know what guidelines there are for a reputable dog breeder.. show or work and earn titles to the dog's names, genetic health tests, etc.

What are the guidelines for breeding cats responsibly? What genetic health tests are done on cats?

A friend of mine had gotton a Sphynx, she had intended on breeding, but discovered she was allergic.. since I have a Crested, she figured I'd like the cat, so she offered it to me. I did not intend to breed, but she asked me about it. The cat had a litter before and she was a good mother. I told her I'd do some research and think on it.

The cat is registered, I believe with TICA. I dont really know much about purebred cats when it comes to registration, breeding and showing.. I've always had rescued "muggle" cats before this.
