Posted by: jn1013 at Thu Jul 28 02:34:08 2005 [ Report Abuse ] [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by jn1013 ] We adopted Phoebe a year and a half ago from a collector posing as a rescue mission. She was underweight and had several infections. She didn't know how to play with a toy, or clean herself. Eventually, she recovered from her illnesses and even learned how to play and clean herself. She even became a friendly outgoing lap cat! We introduced her to Scout about a year ago, and they were fast friends. But over the past couple of months, she has become increasingly agressive. She has taken a couple of nips out of Scout's ear, scratched up his nose, and now hisses, swipes, and growls at him when he wants to play. She has also started to growl at my husband and I. Once outgoing, she now runs and hides at the sound of the doorbell or an unfamiliar voice. She even bites after she asks to be pet. Her eating habits haven't changed, and there hasn't been any major change in our lifestyle or living situation. I am at my wits end, and am fearful that she may have suffered too much neglect early in life to be a happy kitty. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!
