Hi, a stray recently showed up at our house (we live on a farm) and has been living with us for a week or so. He is very tame, and is about 7 months old. He is not neutered (yet). He has been using the litter box and I have been checking it just in case. The other day he urinated in my dog's bed. I noticed him right away and tried to move him but he wouldn't. It was a good size puddle and he didn't appear to strain. Then for a couple days I noticed him licking his genital area. I read on a holistic vet site that you can give cats dandelion and oregon grape if you catch a uti early. It said to use drop form but I live in a small city and I can only get the capsule form. Is it possible to dilute the powder in the capsules to make it as safe and effective as drop form? I have not noticed him straining and I check his tummy to make sure it is not "full". (I lost an older cat last year that had a very acute form of uti).

Or do you know of another way to treat early signs of uti. Thank you in advance.
