Hi,
I adopted two four-moth-old kittens from the same litter about three weeks ago, from an animal rescue association. They both had a bit of a cold when I got them, with third eyelids up and mild sneezing.
I gave them four drops of echinacea tincture and four drops of goldenseal twice a day for seven days, along with some vitamin C, and now one of them is perfectly fine, but the other is still sick. Her third eyelids are not so bad, but she started sneezing more often, with just a little clear and watery nasal discharge. She has had very liquid diarrhea for the past two days, no matter what food I give her (Innova dry food and wet food, they are used to having a little bit of each every day)
They have not been tested for FeLV/FIV yet, but will be very soon.
What would you recommand to alleviate my kitten's diarrhea? I thought of fasting her on chicken broth, but I wouldn't want her to get weak.
She has very good appetite, drinks a lot (probably normal with dry food?), plays a lot with her sister and doesn't seem feverish or dull in any way. Her coat is shiny and I inspected her bottom for worms but didn't see any traces of them.
Thanks for your help!
