ok. next on my shopping list: cod liver oil, bone meal, maybe try to find some chicken breasts with bones in them at my natural food store, or get some from the butcher there. i can't imagine her crunching up chicken bones. all i remember from having a dog is that you've got to be careful that you get the kind that don't splinter and choke them. i have much to learn about cats. i'll search through your forum for advice on the exact bones to get. thanks for your rapid reply.

one more thing - when i place the bowl of cut up chicken down, she lies down on the rug in front of her bowls and takes a piece of it out of the bowl with her paw then rolls her face and head over it and eventually eats it. could this be "lust for the kill" the little beast is displaying? she is purring heavily the whole time.
