The vet did say that such a problem might not have been congenital (although it probably was). Under what circumstances could such a problem develop? How can I prevent such things from happening again as I am thinking about adopting another rescue kitten? I was careful to feed him food without dangerous preservatives, wheat, corn, or meat by-products. I'd appreciate any insight into this.
