my 11y.o. recovered from ARF over a month ago. from this board i've learned a lot about what kind of food to feed cats with kidney issues. so this is what i bought: Prime foods raw pheasant formula (frozen brick-like pieces). first 3 ingredients are: pheasant meat, pheasant necks and pheasant hearts. nutritional %'s are: protein-18, fat-11, fiber-1, moisture-72. for the canned food i bought merrick pet care's cowboy cookout. first 3 ingredients are: beef, beef broth, and beef liver. %'s are: protein-10, fat-3, fiber-1.5, moisture-78, ash-1.8, magnesium-.025, taurine-.08.
is this a good diet to feed my cat? i've been mixing in the raw stuff with the canned and so far he likes it. what is ash? i've never heard of that before.
