It is hard to predict if the cats will ever become friendly. Many cats do, after a while, but I once saw a cat on a house call that was living with another cat, tamed and people-friendly, that was always fearful of people, even having lived with them in the house for a year. We had to catch the cat with a net in order to examine and vaccinate the cat. A year later, the people had bought a house and were moving, and we had to go through the same procedure to catch the cat in order to bring it to the new house. So 2 years in a house with humans did not mellow the cat. Many cats, though, do adapt very well to humans. It is hard to predict the future.
