He should be examined by a vet. His ravenous appetite indicates he is not getting the nutrients he needs, either because it is lacking in his diet or he is not properly digesting his food. You mentioned dry food; no cat should be eating dry food. At least for the moment, feed him fresh beef or chicken liver, not calves liver, and some fresh chicken, with the fat.
