I just brought my 12yo cat home from the vet because she has lost an extreme amount of weight in the last 3-4 months and is skin and bones. They ran stool, bloodwork and x-rays, checking for worms, Feline Lukemina, diabetes, hyperthyroid, etc. All came back negative. X-rays showed no masses/tumors.

Any ideas? My next step would be ultrasounds and biopsies (if they find something), leading to all sorts of invasive and expensive tests and procedures, some of which I'm not sure she would survive.

Is there something simple that we could be overlooking? She is eating and drinking well, no issues with her stool. Nothing out of the ordinary other than the weight loss. She has always eaten Whiskas, or Meow Mix. I put her on the Indoor Cat Meow Mix about 3 months ago, but as she eats well I cannot imagine that it could be causing this?

Thanks for any ideas. Oh, she will not (and has never) touch wet cat food or any "people food", only dry.

Thanks.
