The lactulose should help keep the stool softer so that it will move through the intestines faster. Once your cat is having normal stools, put him on a meat and bone diet, along with cod liver oil and a probiotic daily. If he doesn't have a stool in another 24 hours, I usually give a capsule of cascara sagrada mixed with food to stimulate the intestines.
