Our 15 year old cat mostly stays inside. A few weeks back, she went out and was attacked by another cat who bit and clawed her on the cheek. She lost some hair and we only saw a small cut. Later that week, the cut was infected and swollen. We were able to drain the pus out and treated her with antibiotics and an oxygenated silver solution. The swelling went down and she seemed fine. About 2 weeks later, she has swelling on the other cheek, but it does not seem pus-filled like the other cheek was...just swollen. She does not seem adversely affected, but the swelling is not going down...it actually seems to be getting bigger. We do not see a cut, but there is a small pinhole scab in the center of the affected area. could this be related to the previous infection or just coincidence. It's possible she may have been stung by a wasp as there are many hanging around now. Ideas?
