Give them the bones as well. By chewing the bones, they keep their teeth clean. Animal products means meat poultry, fish, dairy, or eggs, not processed, commercial food. If you are trying to reduce the protein content, increase the fat levels. Cats sometimes chew plants or grass, so you can grow some wheat grass that the cat may chew, if he wants.
