Hi there. I have two questions for you. The first involves my 15 year old male neutered cat Sola who has IBD. We get abdominal ultrasounds every few months to make sure his IBD isn't progressing into intestinal cancer, and I'm happy to say he's doing great. but recently I noticed that around 5:30 every morning his stomach growls. It's so loud that it wakes me up! I feed him when I get up at 6AM, but is this normal for a cat's stomach to growl? I've never heard it before. He's an indoor only cat who eats Wellness canned turkey - a 4.5 oz can per day.
Secondly, my other cat, Sushi, has been having some behavioral issues since I adopted him 2 years ago. I rescued him from a shelter and I think he was feral previously. He has always been a scaredy cat, running immediately when we open the front door, but I've corrected that behavior by offering treats right when we come through the door. His new problem is inappropriate urination. About 2 months ago he started peeing on our leather couch. I immediately took him to the vet to get a urinalysis and he checked out okay. This behavior started right after we returned from a trip. I corrected that behavior by not allowing him access to the part of the couch where he was peeing for about 3 weeks, then I slowly allowed him back on the couch and the behavior stopped. Just the other day we returned from another trip and the very next day he peed on the bed. I'm guessing he has separation issues and I'm not sure what to do. I usually have pet sitters come morning and evening when we're gone and these last two trips I actually had someone stay at the house. I should also mention that I'm 7 months pregnant, so maybe he senses that things are about to change? Any advice would be appreciated!
