I recommend raw chicken, including the thinner bones. When the cat chews through the bones to eat the food, the bones scrape the teeth. It is not necessary to brush the cat's teeth. It is a poor trade-off to give the cat diabetes in order to try to keep the teeth cleaner, which doesn't generally succeed anyway.
