I'm back almost to square one. I was only able to locate the Hydrastis Canadensis in the 6c potency. I gave it to my cat every half hour- 7-9 drops. Although I tried to place it in the cheek pocket for better absorption I was not always successful and he ended up swallowing probably a greater portion of it.

It took three bottles of giving that amount every half hour, day and night, before the discharge from the nasal passages turned clear(it was yellow) and dried up. I continued giving it but every hour, then tried to taper off to every 1 1/2 hours, because I wanted to give Silicea 6x to try and dissolve the stringy mucus at the back of the throat and I couldn't give them both at the same time.

Thinking that the problem of the discharge was corrected I tapered off the HC and started the Silicea, and the symptoms started to come back within several hours. I switched back to HC and even though I've been giving it every half hour since 7 this morning, there is yellow discharge from the one nostril.

Did I stop giving HC too soon? Is it like antibiotics, ie, take it for 14 days regardless as to whether the symptoms have disappeared or not?

For the last week my cat has been on 250 mg of Novo-lexin, every 8-12 hours, 36 drops of echinicea every eight hours, l-Lyseine, cod liver oil, vitamin C, astragalus, grapefruit seed extract(which is supposed to kill every bacteria from staph to e. coli), as well as an antihistamine recommended by the vet to be given twice a day. Unless I give the Hydrastis Canadensis every half hour day and night, there is clear, then yellow discharge, first a little, then alot, coming from one then both nostrils. Once again, your imput would be much appreciated.
