You didn't mention how much your cat weighs, but the average cat weighs between 8 and 10 lbs. If she continues to lose weight, that is a problem, but if she reaches a steady weight on a new food, even if it is less than on the other food, that is not a problem. If your cat is eating the same quantity of both foods, and lost weight on one, check the nutrition panel to see how many calories each food has per ounce, as there may be a difference there. Do you give her a specific amount of food per meal, or does she eat all that she wants? She will try to eat until her nutritional needs are met. Check the consistency of the stool to be certain that she is digesting well what she is consuming. Cats don't handle carbohydrates well, and tend to get fat on a diet high in carbs, but without examining the cat I can't say if she became too skinny on the Wellness or got too fst on the Purina. It is still preferable to have her on canned or fresh food.
