Hi,
My cat is currently in Hills Prescription K/D diet, canned. The problem is that he refuses to eat it. I've tried putting it in a blender, mixing other things with it to disguise the taste, etc, and it's spit out.I am assist-feeding. I can't switch to K/D dry because there aren't enough teeth left to chew it adequately and it's vomited up hours later. I've tried adding water it to but it's too concentrated and is vomited up as a lump. It also seems to suck alot of water up in the digestion process and there are dehydration issues as the result which I don't have if I give canned. I've tried pureeing chicken and adding yogurt but it raised the phosphorous levels and also didn't seem to be balanced enough. I've tried lean raw beef but wonder if it's too hard on the kidneys.

I read where Hills Prescription K/D is nothing more than a regular diet with Vitamin C added. I see it contains pork and I didn't think pork was something that was supposed to be given to cats. I'm trying to find something that is the equivalent of Hills Prescription K/D in it's support of the kidneys, etc, but isn't. Is there something that I can feed him? Also, what supplements, vitamins, etc, do you think are important to be given to a CRF cat? Thank you for any help you may be able to give.
