My male cat is severely underweight. He is about 14 months old and neutered about a month and a half ago. He has always been a thin but lean cat, always calm with a seemingly low appetite. But more recently all these signs that I have overlooked just exploded in 2 months time. It happened so fast that it threw us all for a loop. He is still eating, but mostly nibbling throughout the day. We have switched him from scheduled feedings to free feeding. Giving him KMR to drink, and the occasional tuna feeding. His weight loss however just keeps getting worse and right now I am scared. He is so thin that when he sits, lays, or slings across the floor looking for a toy that I can see the outline of his skeleton, he has become extremely lethargic, and loss of his playful attitude. He has been de wormed with a multiple type worm medication, and I will be having him scheduled very soon for blood tests. But I need to know if there is something more I am missing? Is there anything more I can do to bring his weight up, and preferably somewhat quickly?
Thank you for any help and ideas, it is very much appreciated.
