My Mother passed away in April. She had a 10 year old cat, which since April has been living in my in laws attic. We bring food up and change the laiiter for her, but now my in laws are moving to Florida. Yesterday it was brought to our house where we have cats also. The Cat is very mean and spent her entire life alone with my Mother. You jsut cant go near her. We have it in a cage right now and have called several animal shelters who are full and spoken to many cat rescue people...We are looking for options. The shelters are full, and the rescue people basically say that noone is going to take a cat like that. We don't want to euthanize her cause she was my mother's cat , but we may ahve no choice. Are there any other options?? Can we transition her to an outdoor cat at that age? Please, we need opinions and help on this...
