As for the king spending the whole time trying to escape, I am not sure. I keep 4 greeri, and they don't have that sort of activity, unless I have just did a full cleaning. I would offer him a couple other hides, including a moist one. Even just a few paper towel tubes or mac and cheese boxes would work. Sorry you had to wait so long for a reply.
