I recently ended up with a sub-adult Ptyas mucosus (Dharman Ratsnake) in a trade. It appears to be healthy and I know it has has at least the basic parasite treatments. Beyond this, I know that it seems to be calmer that what I expected (so far!) and that it likes to eat. I'm using f/t adult mice, which it readily takes when left in the cage. Anyone have any experience with this species? I'm a sucker for "oddball" colubrids, I admit. I did what research I could in advance, but there appears to be practically nothing out there about keeping these guys. From accounts of wild specimens, I was prepared for it to go for my face like a big Coachwhip, but it has just been flighty, not biting. I'd love to hear from someone who has dealt with these guys.
