Any users familiar with the laws regarding ownership and breeding/selling of western hognose in Missouri?
According to Missouri Department of Conservation:
"In the last 4 years, there has been considerable taxonomic changes with the hog-nosed group that resulted in full species status and changes in regulations. Western Hog-nosed Snakes (H. nasicus nasicus) are no longer recognized, they are all considered Plains Hog-nosed Snake (H. nasicus), which is considered native to Missouri. Therefore, any animals being purchased or sold in Missouri with the following taxonomic names are illegal to sell or purchase without a Class I Breeder Permit : H. gloydi-Dusty Hog-nosed Snake (Native), H. nasicus-Plains hog-nosed Snake (Native), and H. platirhinos-Eastern Hog-nosed Snake (Native)."
This leads me to believe that with this permit I can purchase/breed/sell H. Nasicus, but I cannot sell them to anyone without a permit in my state. I can sell on forums and ship out of state, but not being able to sell at local reptile shows makes things tough.
Anyone in Missouri have any experience or clarification on this issue?
