My boa's mouth is very swollen

Notice that my boy is mouth was very swollen. Took him out of his cage to investigate. Saw that the interior of his mouth was swollen and infected. Upon further prodding found a foreign object stuck in his mouth and pulled it out. Could be a tooth could be some substrate I'm not sure please help any advice is welcome. He has Aspen bedding in his cage right now and nothing else in there that could harm his mouth. He just let me wash off his mouth and pull the thing out with no struggle it all as if you really really wanted it gone.
