Hey, no I would not leave it bare bottomed, lol. Just put sand in over the entire bottom but put large pile in one corner of damp sand. They will know what to do (hopefuly) lol

I usually incubate at about 84 degrees, some do higher but I like it there it's a good temp. As far as the vermiculite, I'm sorry I do not do any scientific method of measurement. I have been doing this so long I just wet the vermiculite and squeeze it out until it's not drippy, or until it sort of forms together. Then it's ready, hhahahaa. Then put the squeezed vermiculite into your container. OR>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Also over the past few years I just put collared eggs in a suspended type container with my leopard gecko eggs. They just sit on a rack with damp vermiculite under the rack. They hatch fine :0)
