I have had my Emerald Tree boa for coming on a month now, he is about four feet and pretty slender even for an arboreal snake, he hasn't eaten in the entire month, and I haven't been told how long ago he ate by the original breeder. I have tried adult mice f/t, adult mice live, and live rat pups.
Yesterday was his most recent try, I had the fogger on full, it filled the tank, and the room was pitch black, I found him sitting in the predatation position several times, and I woke up at two to find the Tupperware container knocked over. (I have a water bottom for his tank to increase humidity, the Tupperware keeps mice in and away from the water) One rat was missing, although I found it early this morning. They are both still alive, for the daytime I put them in a separate tank on a heated lamp so they stay healthy. When I get home I'm planning on dipping them in chicken broth and trying again.
If this doesn't work I will be buying chicks to feed. I know they don't eat often, although I find this excessive with refusal if anyone has suggestions I'd be happy to hear.
