Hey, Kingsnake! I have an Exo terra medium skyscraper terrarium, it's currently being used for an Emerald Tree boa but very soon I will be using it as a starting tank for a pair of baby Water Monitors, and before you get your pitchforks, I know that they will need a much larger tank and that most people use a length tank, but I am going for a NERD design with lots of climbing space, I want them to have a massive amount of space to climb while they still have the interest.
Moving onto the topic at hand. I want them to have a 100 to 120 Basking spot, and I suck with Under Tank Heaters. (They always stop working! Every brand !! ) I want to try a super powerful bulb, but something tells me it would just get too hot around the top for it to be feasible. I haven't set the tank up yet, but I will describe my idea for setup.
Ceramic tile on the bottom left with Cyprus mulch. Large water bowl to the right. Plastic Netting going up all three sides of the tank, with vines, cork FLATS and Exo terra elevated outcrops scattered at varying heights and sides of the tank. They will not be getting a hide because again, I am going full NERD style with the behavioural traits. Thanks again!!
