A few days ago, my Great Basin Gophersnake started remodeling his tank and buried himself inside his hide rock (which is over his under tank heat pad) by blocking the entrance with substrate. Today, after not seeing him resurface, we investigated and found rock hard egg-like forms just under 2" in length each, and there are 6 of them. Anyone have any idea what's going on here? This is a snake housed alone with no other gophersnakes in our home. My immediate thought was eggs! But that can't be the case. I would love some feedback! This snake also refused his rat last week for the first time in the 13 years with us, but has otherwise been eating, drinking, passing feces and been active. I'm so confused! I have a pic but don't see a way to attach it to this post.
