This snake was found inside a home in Brookfield Wisconsin -- approximately 15 miles west of Milwaukee. It's located in a residential neighborhood -- not a wooded area. This is my childhood home and the snake was unfortunately found by my mother in a spare bedroom curled up on top of clothing. We have never had a snake in the house previously. After several minutes of panic and screaming, my father beat the snake with a golf club then put in a garbage bag. A snake control company came to the house yesterday BUT COULD NOT IDENTIFY THE SNAKE! They took the snake back to their lab and will analyze it, but their initial reaction was that the head resembled that of a python! The back half of the snake resembled a garter snake which is very common in our area -- but not this size! The snake is approximately 4 feet long! It is possible that someone's pet python escaped and mated with a garter snake?
