Hi,

I got a pet rat because I like small animals, and have had great success with hamsters, guinea pigs, etc., and felt like something new. All the research I have done says rats are very "sociable" and "enjoy human interaction."

The research I have done has also revealed multiple sources as stating eventually your rat will "come when called, ride in your pocket, love to be held," and so on and so forth. I expected it would take time, but every time I attempt to put my hand in the cage, I get a nasty bite.

Is this rat abnormal, or has anyone else had a similar experience?

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Please help.
Thanks!

I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
