The question: Is a hidden snake a happy snake? Snake details: MC is a male Mojave ball. He's approx 900 grams, 2.5 years old. Eating a rat twice monthly, no feeding problems. Humidity and temp are controlled and within range. Yes, I use an aquarium with a bulb. It is what he came with and it works. The behavior: MC has shown he is a good climber. At first I thought I must have a ball who enjoys climbing, so I added some branches for him to climb. Then I noticed he was out all the time. As much as I love him, all the reading I've done says balls don't like to climb and the over activity is a sure sign he's stressed. So, 72 hrs ago I modified his cage to the current set up. He is back to his hide all day behavior. Do you know any happy climbers? Is this set up Okay? I really want him to be a happy snek. Thanks for helping Me! Photo is current set up
