For anyone taking in box turtles for adoption, rehab, ect., just wanted to let you know that it might not be a bad idea to have your vet scan for microchips. Since most box turtles in rescue are either wild-caught specimens purchased from a pet store, or they're wild-caught picked up in the woods or on the roads by an uninformed member of the public, I'm always afraid that I'll end up with someone's field study subject.
