Cindy,

I think it is both a good manager and crew at the store, AND a new outlook by Petco. The Petno group and PETA have been putting a lot of pressure on Petco, and it seems that Petco is finally responding. However, we have to be careful that we do not get "used" toward Petco's goals and end up beign chewed up by the "machine". In other words, keep on them for proper husbandry, try to get them to stop selling the animals most often in need of rescueing, and get them to stop selling wild-caught animals, without taking credit for our work in their stores if we do start doing adoption days there.

Some Petco stores have sent people my way over the years, although it's usually people that want to get rid of animals.

Just wanted to pass this along. I know how hated Petco can be and we just got them in our area. Personally they are overpriced to what I usually pay for stuff.

Anyhow this weekend they refered 2 people to me. Last time I was in the store they sold both Columbian boas and Iguanas, however this weekend I got two prospective adoptive homes for a boa and an igunana. Also Every habitat change that I sent to the regional mananger on the care of the igunana was done. I know how much and how hard they work with dog and cat rescues. Maybe through that outlet they are learning more and begining to work with us scales too. Anyone else have this experience? Did I just luck out with a good regional manager? Is Petco turning a new leaf with regards to scales? What are other rescues experiencing across the country?
