If Richy is who I'm thinking, he's one of the garage hackers. If it's not done by a licensed vet, UNDER STERILE CONDITIONS, it's a hack job. Bottom line, any licensed vet with any morals or conscience at all, won't do they surgery. Especially considering they make very little off of the surgery....~$100. Why would a licensed vet charge someone $100 to de-venomize a $50 snake, knowing they are going to sell it for $400? They wouldn't.
The people who buy venomoids should be ashamed of themselves, as much as the grubs who tear them apart. It makes me sick seeing an ad in the classifieds for snakes that are 5 to 10 times the normal cost. Not to mention the @ssholes spell the species' names wrong, and to top it off, show pictures of them holding the snakes like they are cuddly animals. You'll never find an accurate number of how many are actually killed or eventually die from the surgery.
The only thing you'll see is someone advertising a snake that is 0 PERFECT IN EVERY WAY, NO SCARS, EATS EVERYTHING IN SIGHT.
My venomoid rant for the month.
