Try doing a search for phylogenetic systematics (sp?) or biological systematics. That may get you to a classification index. It's been several years since I took any systematics corses. (It's the "how to classify something, what order the words have to be", etc.) There *is* a rule book for how to scientifically name animals, or plants (not the same rule book though).
