I've lost (and found!!!) 1 ball python and one corn snake. Both were within 5 feet of their tank. Follow the wall, and look under things. Under bookcases, couches, computer desks, etc. They normally don't go far. Try putting out a warm snack and a heat lamp. Others have also used flour on the floor to see where tracks might lead.
