The burn wouldn't have messed it up too bad, but before you get it read up on the species. A small warning though: I don't know you, and therefore don't know if you are squeemish or not, but I will warn you, as I get bitten a lot, that in relativity to the other "pet-lizard" options, they hold on like a friggin vise. To me it kind of feels good, but if you've only owned Pogona and geckoes the bite will surprise you.
