No American snakebite is painful unless it comes with a rattle. It's cool that snakegal's into pituophis though. My pituophis really seem to like the taste of my arm for some reason. Their bites feel kind of cool, especially the juvies, because their teeth feel like those thin acupuncture needles that don't give you pain but kind of tickle. The worst bite I've had came from my own family (brother). I got my finger nawed on by one of our parrots (we don't keep birds anymore- doesn't feel right) when I was about 4 years old. That was worse than any snakebite I've had. I vaguely remember having my large spiny softshell turtle bite through my garden glove when I was in elementary school. I'd like to get a hot bite from my Hypsiglena to see what happens. It only bit me once with no reaction. I would be very curious to see what a heloderma bite would feel like.
