Hi,

I do not give my jewelled Lacertas any UVB, but I do supplement their diet with D3.
Light intensity matters a lot. So if you do not keep them outside, use metal halides.
They grow to more than 4 ft. 40 g is WAYYYYYYY too small. They should have a floor space of at least 4 x 3 ft, betterbigger.
Yes, they eat all the stuff you mentioned and also eat veggies and flowers, even bird seed.
Donīt forget to offe rbrid grit and appropriate supplements
Iīd suggest playsand as a substrate, which should be kept relatively dry. But you should provide hide boxes with a moister substrate.
In a less frequented room, they may stay shy, but in a living room or any room, where people move around a lot, they will soon andapt. Since they are voracious feeders, they will soon associate you with food and thus become relatively "tame".

Hope that helps

Ingo
