Has anyone ever actually done a study of how vipers (or any venomous snake) digests its food?

If they rely so heavily on their venom how do venomoids cope? How do other snakes cope?

Do regular non-venomous snakes have more powerful stomach acid? Or is it the same strength and without venom vipers can live the same way?

Im not for or against venomoids, just had a few questions.

Thanks
