If its a male it will need at least a 75 gal. when it is fully grown. as for sand i would try to buy river bed sand, i found it at a pet expo similar to petco or petsmart and it actually has a pic of a softy right on the bag. filtering is difficult i use a gang oof fluval submersibles which need regular cleaning. check out austinsturtlepage.com it has care sheets, pics and advice on setup. also if you go to the forum there is a section called the murky lair whee many owners can answer your questions [ Reply To This Message ] [ Subscribe to this Thread ] [ Hide Replies ]
