Hi,

I've kept a hatching Florida Softshell since last October and he's been doing well, eating well, no shell fungus, etc. However, just about a month or so ago, I noticed his shell isn't as perfectly oval anymore..meaning towards the front 1/4th edge on both the left and right side, there seems to be a bony protrusion. I can feel it when I hold him by the side and it seems like the shell got thinner or more flimsy. He's still eating a lot and has access to full-spectrum UVA/UVB lighting....but unfortunately, no real sun. And when I look at his underside, I can see reddish tinge around the limbs and pelvic region. Is it a calcium deficiency? Septicemia? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Johnny
