I would think you are right about his age. He does have scarring on his tail. He is a beautiful creature and I was very excited to see him that night. I had been driving for close to 2 hours only seeing DOA Crotalus. I did spot a fresh DOA 2-3 months previous on the Rd to Sugar Pine. That was about 6am (was going fishing).
