Jason-don't apologize, as these lizards are mite carriers. But let me ask, and making an assumption these are probably soft bodied, and kind of grey of dark brown. THese are probably mites. Although I have seen ticks on lizards not usually around the eyes and not an infestation. I like "Reptile Relief" by Natural Chemisty and kills on contact and is more or less natural. It is also effective on ticks. I have used tweezers on the mites around the eyes and picked them off as best as I could and then spray the body with the mite spray, get a cotton tip for around the neck and sensitive areas, this should kill most, then come back in two weeks and do it again. I would completely dump your substrate and wash all you branches and rocks and the cage itself--I use a little bleach and then clean them up with soap and water. Mites are not easy to irradicate. But I have found Reptile Relief to be a good product, the eyes are really hard if you put any mite spray in the eyes your proably gong to hurt the lizard, I assume someone else may have a reccomendation, but if you get one of those real small ended tweezers (medical type) at the pharmacy you should be able to pick them off and keep inspecting until there are no more.
