I personally agree with your observation. Generally speaking, there is just a subtle difference, if any, between the two "locales." From the ones I've seen, the Matias usually seem to have slightly narrower striping, but not always. I kind of believe the two to really be the same boas. I've noticed far more difference in looks between Pioneertown animals that were observed 100 yards apart, than in Felipes/Matias. And soneone should tell Rainer to bring all his shoes and glasses, 'cause he can't see so good....LOL. A Bay of LA it defintely isn't.
